When I decided to build firewall in our network, I have no idea how it have to be configured. zero experience with firewall. Read a lot of articles, but didn’t convince me to start my plan.
In the other side, my student behave doesn’t give me any choice except create url filtering. Honnestly, the magnet of friendster and primbon.com out of my tolerant.
So, here I am now, using my hollyday working in IPCOP. I thought I ‘ll found several problems in firewall configuration, and it was. I sliped between red and green network.
The second problem is when I reconfigure a LTSP IP configurtation. Sudenly every client won’t login. I have found this case few month before and no solution.
So I turned back latest configuration then I changed IP ADSL modem configuration, less risk I think.
Reintalling IPCOP only takes few minutes, most problems in network adapter that didn’t work. but after one hours the firewall is running normal.
The ubuntu server working again but my K12LTSP not changed yet.
Soon after that, I intalling urlfilter addon into IPCOP. Configuring web firewall control is something a have getting used to in the future. Not easy for me, but I learned something new.
I comes home ten in the night. Tired but still several plan left.
