Internet: Meng update firefox di fedora core 5 ke atas

Fedora 5 telah membundel program browser mozilla firefox. Versi firefox saat FC 5 diinstal adalah versi 1.5.xxx, tapi kita bisa meng upgrade browser tersebut ke versi yang terbaru. langkah cepat adalah dengan :

– login sebagai root.

– pada sesi terminal ketik :

[root@localhost ~]# yum -t -y –enablerepo=development update firefox

Kita bisa menambahkan parameter -y agar setiap pilihan yang muncul tidak perlu lagi menekan ‘y’ sehingga proses upgrade dapat berjalan tampa perlu ditunggu. Tentu saja dengan catatan proses berjalan lancar, tidak ada file atau repository yang tidak ditemukan.

sebelum proses updating dimulai ada baiknya file konfigurasi firefox yg lama di tambah comment dulu biar nggak konflik saat istalasi dependensi-nya dengan seamonkey ;

[root@localhost ~]#vi /etc/gre.d/gre.conf

#[1.5.x.x]
#GRE_PATH=/usr/lib/firefox-1.5.x.x

Baru mulai proses update :

[root@localhost ~]# yum -t -y –enablerepo=development update firefox
